The Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal met with the President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola and leaders of political groups. He announced this on his Telegram channel.
The Prime Minister noted that Ukraine and Ukrainians are in the focus of attention of the European Parliament.
“I thanked our friends for their determination and leadership in helping Ukraine. The first plenary session of the EP in the new season will take place next week. I am sure that the European Parliament and other institutions will once again provide- stress their unwavering support for Ukraine and make victory in the war an unconditional priority,” Shmyhal said. .
According to him, the priorities remain: military aid, increased sanctions pressure, financial and humanitarian support to Ukraine.
“After Ukraine receives the candidate status, our main priority is the transition to the membership negotiation process. We count on the support of the European Parliament on this issue,” said the head of the Cabinet.
Recall that the EP allocated one billion euros to help Ukraine. This is the first tranche of the €9 billion macro-financial assistance package. It will be used to ensure the continued functioning of the state’s most important functions.
