After the victory over Russia, Ukraine will not be able to fully restore the coal industry in the region.
The Russian invaders flooded the mines in the Lugansk region, and the miners themselves were sent to the front to fight the Ukrainians. This was announced on Sunday, September 4, by the head of the military administration of the Lugansk region, Sergei Gaidai, on his Telegram channel.
“Our mines, even since Yanukovych and earlier, were subsidized. And now the occupiers have completely sunk them, and men have been sent to the front. Many of them have died, many crippled,” said Gaidai.

He also mentioned that the mines are in a state where it is impossible to restore their work.
“We will not return this industry to the form in which it is. But still, we have to work in this direction. The region really has its own specifics,” he said.
Gaidai emphasized that the industrial area could be of interest to Ukraine’s foreign partners who want to open their businesses there.
“As for other industrial enterprises, the restoration will take place according to modern standards, we will leave the “Soviet region”. The Lugansk region will continue to develop its industrial potential! But first – Success!” he added.
Recall that the Security Service collected evidence of voluntary collaboration with the enemy in the temporarily occupied territory of the Lugansk region of three more collaborators.
