Kadyrov continues to rule Chechnya. He has held this position longer than other heads of regions – since 2007.
Talks by the leader of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, about a possible resignation have not materialized. This is how Putin’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov commented on the words of the leader of Chechnya about a possible resignation.
Peskov emphasized that the Kremlin is still moving on from the fact that Kadyrov continues to rule Chechnya.
“In fact, we saw these messages, but, let’s put it this way, so far, if I understand correctly, these messages did not take place in any way,” said Peskov.
“For now we proceed from the fact that he continues to rule the Chechen Republic,” added the representative of the president.
The previous day, Kadyrov said he was “tired and overstayed” in his position and considered “an indefinite and long vacation” deserved. He remembered a Chechen proverb about a guest who becomes more pleasant when he leaves on time and declares that “his time has come.”
Earlier it was reported that Kadyrov was notified of the suspicion of committing a number of crimes on the territory of Ukraine.
