Ukraine has become an important part of Europe, and the words of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz about the future European integration of our country confirm this fact. This was announced on Sunday, September 4, by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal on the Telegram channel.
“Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s recent statement that Ukraine should become a member of the EU is an important political manifesto within the policy framework of the “zeitenwende” or “change of times”. Ukraine is no longer at the center of Europe and Russia, but an important part of it and European institutions” – said Shmygal.
According to him, with the help of partners, Ukraine will become part of a new strong Europe.
It will be recalled that on June 23, the Council of the EU granted Ukraine the status of a candidate for joining the European Union.
In order to become a full member of the association, Kyiv must implement some anti-corruption reforms and changes in the judicial and law enforcement systems, as well as harmonize some laws with European ones.
Earlier, Stefanyshina said that before the end of the year, Ukraine expects to receive details from European leaders about the next steps towards the EU.
