Among the main crops currently exported are corn, wheat, sunflower oil, rapeseed.
This marketing year, Ukraine plans to export about 65-70 million tons of grain and oilseeds. We are talking about 22 million tons of residue from last year’s crop and 38-43 million tons of the new crop. On Friday, September 2, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy reported.
As Taras Vysotsky, First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food said, today the optimal level of utilization of the capacities of roads, ports and railways has been reached – about 3 million tons per month. In addition, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy plans to expand the amount of cargo that passes through the grain corridor of the ports, as well as by rail.
“The goal is 5-6 million tons of total export of agricultural products per month, as before the war,” said Vysotsky.
At the same time, he noted that Ukraine now sells abroad: wheat, rapeseed, corn, sunflower oil.
Speaking about the current harvest, Vysotsky said that today Ukrainian farmers have harvested almost 25 million tons of grain, and 60% of the sown area is cultivated.
“The harvest of wheat has been completed – more than 19 million tons, barley – 5.5 million tons, rapeseed – about 3 million tons. The harvesting of soybeans, sunflowers and corn has begun. They should receive 10 million tons, 3.5 million tons and 27 million tons, respectively. “, he predicted.
At the same time, he noted that farmers prefer to sow grain and oil crops.
“We are seeing an increase in the share of soybean, rapeseed, sunflower. First of all, this is due to logistics problems. It is also clear that farmers want to grow crops with greater added value, more the price per ton is high, because the logistics costs are the same”, – said Vysotsky.
The same situation, in his opinion, will be observed in 2023.
Recall that during the month of operation of the grain corridor, 68 ships left Ukrainian ports, delivering more than 1.72 million tons of grain to 18 countries.
