During routine maintenance on the Trent 60 gas compressor unit at the Portovaya compressor station, allegedly “an oil leak with an admixture of a sealing compound” was detected.
The Russian gas company Gazprom on Friday, September 2, announced a complete stop to pumping gas into the Nord Stream pipeline due to a fault at the only Portovaya compressor station that continues to operate. Gazprom reported this on Telegram.
They claim that during routine maintenance on the Trent 60 gas pumping unit of the Portovaya compressor station, “an oil leak with an admixture of a sealing compound was detected in the connectors of the terminal connections of the cable lines of low and intermediate pressure rotor. speed sensors.”
Oil was also found in the cable line area of the external terminal box of the automatic unit control system. Gazprom says the oil leak detection reports were signed by Siemens representatives who help with maintenance.
“Until the statements on the operation of the equipment are eliminated, gas transportation in the Nord Stream gas pipeline has been completely stopped,” added the Russian company.
Earlier in Germany, the parliamentary faction of the Free Democrats – one of three members of the ruling “traffic light coalition” – called for the dismantling of the not yet operational Russian gas pipeline Nord Stream-2.
