Italian Ministry of Health Updated as of today, COVID-19 quarantine rules will last 10 to 5 days if you test negative and 14 days if you continue to be positive for the virus.
According to the new ministerial circular, especially important before the start of the new academic year, for cases that have always been asymptomatic or that were initially symptomatic but asymptomatic for at least 2 days. Isolation can end after 5 days if the antigen or molecular test is negative.
There are currently 10 days of mandatory isolation before taking a new test.
“In the case of a persistent positive result, isolation may be terminated at the end of the 14th day from the moment of a positive result,” the new regulation adds.
New measures for next academic year
The new rules, in addition to jobs, will also affect the new academic year, since the Ministry of Education has decided to suspend distance learning for schoolchildren with covid.
Also next school year in Italy will not need masks or distance between students and for those who test positive, there will be no remote learning as COVID-19 will be treated like the flu and the student will be returned to work when symptoms are gone.
While the situation in Italy is not worrisome, there were 21,817 new cases in 24 hours and 90 deaths this Wednesday, according to the Ministry of Health.
A total of 167,495 tests were carried out, representing 13% of positive results compared to 14.9% on Tuesday.
