Ukrainian officials deal with the issue of the release of Azov fighters from Russian captivity every day. This was announced on Wednesday, August 31, by the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Alexei Danilov as part of a telethon.
At the same time, Danilov emphasized that the topic of the defenders of Azovstal “calmed down” in the public space due to the request of the people involved in the liberation of Ukrainians.
“This is a very painful subject. This is a difficult issue. Our main task here is to keep them all alive and well. What happened in Yelenovka, this horror, the terrorist act committed by the Russian Federation, these are unacceptable things. is like an agreement, so that there are as few official comments as possible in the press about this matter. I can say that they are hurt by the people who are dealing with this issue. They are doing it every day,” says Danilov.
Recall that Ukraine has filed several new urgent requests to the European Court of Human Rights regarding the defenders of Azovstal.
Fighters of the Azov battalion and other defenders of Mariupol have been in Russian captivity since mid-May. Not all of them were saved.
