Almost 140 ships were allowed to sail in August as part of the Black Sea Grain Initiative.

In August, more than 1.5 million tons of Ukrainian food was exported. This was reported on September 1 by the Interfax-Ukraine agency with reference to the UN.

It was noted that as of August 31, the total tons of grain and other food products exported from the three ports of Ukraine was 1,546,516 tons.

In total, the movement of 139 vessels is allowed so far – 77 arrived at Ukrainian ports and 63 left them.

On Wednesday, August 31, the Joint Coordinating Center (JCC) gave permission for four more ships with more than 125,000 tons of food to leave Ukrainian ports on September 1.

The UN determined that the ships Eneida (35,470 tons of wheat and 8,560 tons of corn), Helga (27,000 tons of corn) and Daytona Dynamic (25,850 tons of corn) were headed for Turkey.

Another Massa J ship is leaving Yuzhny port with 28,500 tons of wheat. His destination was not specified.

It will be recalled that on July 22, an agreement was signed in Istanbul on the launch of a “grain corridor” from Ukraine. The agreement provides for the export of Ukrainian food along the Black Sea from three ports, including Odessa.
