Lukashenka’s army does not have the number of men needed to wage an effective war, according to Kyiv.
The people of Belarus for the most part do not support the war in Ukraine, and the Belarusian army has more information about the real situation at the front than the Russians. Because of this, only a small portion of the republic’s military personnel was ready to fight. This was announced on Wednesday, August 31, by the adviser to the Office of the President of Ukraine Mykhailo Podolyak, UNIAN writes.
According to him, no more than 10-15% of the population in Belarus supports the war. He also believed that the Belarusian army was completely demoralized.
“They have more information about what is happening in Ukraine. They still do not live in the same information space as Russians, there are no such restrictions. Therefore, Belarusians are more aware of what is happening in Ukraine,” said Podolyak.
The adviser to the head of the Office of the President noted that some strategic movements of Belarus can be expected in the first weeks of the war.
“Now, even Lukashenka realizes that this war, which will only bring disadvantages, including Mr. Lukashenka, has no benefits,” explained Podolyak.
He also noted that the Belarusian army does not have the number of people needed to conduct an effective war.
“And finally, we analyze not only the moral state of society and the army of Belarus. We understand that tactically they do not have the number of people they need to conduct an effective war in Ukraine. That is, the Russians involved more than 250 thousand people in the war against Ukraine and it does not help them, and there is no such number of troops in Belarus,” said Podolyak.
The adviser to the head of the Office of the President summed up that even if Belarus provides its infrastructure and airspace for bombing Ukrainian soil, it can be expected that it will not be enough for more.
Recall that self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko announced a large-scale “perestroika” in civil society and party building. In particular, he suggests liquidating parties that do not support the authorities.
