When registering and reviewing the activities of public organizations and parties, there will be requirements for mandatory compliance with the state course.
Self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko announced a large-scale “perestroika” in civil society and party building. This was reported by the BelTA news agency.
It was noted that at the meeting on August 30, bills “regulating the development of civil society, the work of parties and public associations in Belarus” were passed.
According to Lukashenka, he expects “tough criticism”, including about the lack of democratic character of the documents.
He also noted that in the future registration and review of the activities of public organizations and especially parties, there will be requirements for mandatory compliance with the state course, which will supposedly be determined by the All-Belarusian National Assembly (ANC) .
“What should these requirements be? How to determine whether the parties are acting correctly or not? We have a great organization – the All-Belarusian People’s Assembly. Both political parties and civil society will be represented there.
“The ANC will set the contours of our future, the path on which the state will move. Everyone is there. And please, everyone follow this course, which will be determined there. If you move to the left, the right, the party or “Social movement needs to be liquidated. This is the only way we can keep the country in some kind of rut, within some framework,” Lukashenka said.
