The European Court of Human Affairs decided to review the measures in cases involving Ukraine and from September 1 will return to the normal procedure for working on such cases.
The European Court of Human Rights will resume consideration of complaints against Ukraine, which have been suspended due to Russia’s aggression. Judge Nikolai Gnatovsky reported this on Facebook.
According to him, the ECtHR decided to review the measures in cases involving Ukraine and from September 1, 2022, it will return in some aspects to the normal procedure for working on such cases. In particular, outgoing communication with applicants will be continued as much as possible, and general information for all applicants will be available on the court’s website.
“Cases will continue to be considered and new time frames will be set for pending cases, taking into account the actual ability of the parties to answer the questions raised. Notification and publication of decisions will be gradual -will gradually be restored,” said Gnatovsky.
Recall that in August the ECHR ordered Russia to ensure the rights of captured defenders of Ukraine. However, even earlier, the Russian side withdrew from the membership of the European Court and did not recognize its decisions for a long time.
