A physical barrier – a fence and a cutting wire – was installed in sections with a length of about 502 kilometers.

“The project team continues to work – maintenance specialists work on the border, minor defects in the constructed barrier are removed, roads and construction sites are restored, project documentation is maintained,” said a representative of EPSO-G, which is involved in the construction.
The total length of the border between Lithuania and Belarus is 679 kilometers, of which more than 100 kilometers of the border pass along the banks of rivers and lakes.
Earlier it was reported that Poland has finished building a fence on the border with Belarus. It took five months and 49 thousand tons of steel to build a fence with a length of 186 kilometers.
