Lake Synevyr’s record has been shallow

The local guide assures that the Synevyr will be a fuller current soon, as the storms are already starting.

Due to the drought, the water level in Ukraine’s largest high mountain lake, Synevyr, has fallen to a historic low. This was reported by Ukrinform.

“This year, a historical minimum of shallowing of Lake Synevyr was recorded. The reason is that in the mountains of the Carpathians and throughout Transcarpathia this spring and summer there was a long drought, no rain for a long time,” said the local . guide Vitaliy Dyblyuk.

The guide said that there is a mark on Synevyr Island that shows a low mark, where the lake’s water level mark falls. It was recorded in the summer of 2005.

“But don’t worry, Synevyr will not dry up, because it is constantly fed by three streams from the mountains, which never dry up and never freeze,” assures Dyblyuk. He believes that Synevyr will be more fully flowing in the near future.

“We have started thunderstorms, this adds water to the ecosystem. And in the fall the lake will be bigger because of the seasonal rains,” said the guide.

It was previously reported that in the largest reservoir in the United States – Lake Mead – due to a sharp drop in the water level, human remains began to be found. This year alone, the remains of five people have been found, including a 40-year-old murder victim.
