The UN World Food Program will continue buying Ukrainian wheat for its humanitarian operations in famine-stricken regions of the world, including Ethiopia and Yemen.
In Ukraine, there is no place to store grain, which means that the issue of its export remains relevant. This was announced on Saturday, August 27 by the UN Resident Coordinator at the Special Coordination Center in Istanbul, Amir Mahmoud Abdullah, reports the UN press service.
“Ukraine needs to sell several million tons of food stored in warehouses to make room for the next harvest,” Abdullah said.

At the same time, he emphasized that since the signing of the international agreement on unblocking Ukrainian ports for food trade, more than one million tons of grain have been exported from Black Sea ports.
“The Black Sea Grain Initiative has freed up some space, but more grain needs to be exported to make room for the next crop,” he said.
Recall that in August almost fifty ships left Ukrainian ports along the grain corridor.
