The Ukrainian army should reach the borders of Ukraine in 1991, and Russia will be ready for negotiations on the terms of Kyiv.
The war between Russia and Ukraine will end at the negotiating table, but only after the Russian Federation has suffered significant tactical losses on the front. Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of the Office of the President, shared this opinion in an interview with the Finnish publication Helsingin Sanomat, reports on Friday, August 26, OP.

“Russia is really ready for peace if it suffers significant tactical losses. Then it will stop issuing ultimatums and will be forced to listen to the arguments of others. When Ukraine reaches the borders defined in 1991, the Russia will be ready to sit at the negotiating table and sign a peace agreement. This is the only chance to guarantee the liberal values and freedom of Europe,” said the representative of Kyiv.
At the same time, the adviser noted that now, as at the beginning of a full-scale invasion, there is no way to negotiate with an aggressor country that speaks the language of ultimatums and puts unacceptable demands.
“Putin’s plan is simple. He wants to restore the Soviet Union in one form or another. Ukraine is his main enemy here,” Podolyak stressed.
Finally, he predicted that the defeat of Russia would give Belarus the freedom to choose, which could become “a real democracy in Europe.”
Earlier, Podolyak said that negotiations with the Russian Federation on a cease-fire were not useful, as any temporary cease-fire would mean continued Russian aggression in the future.
