The IAEA mission – the International Atomic Energy Agency – wants to visit the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant before September 5. Nuclear inspectors will be given broader powers than originally envisaged.
This is reported by the influential American publication Bloomberg.
The IAEA plans to visit the station before the end of next week, during an already scheduled two-week international mission to test safety systems at Europe’s largest nuclear power plant, the report said.
IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi met in Istanbul on Wednesday with Rosat officials to discuss the details of the mission that will depart from Kyiv to the Russian-occupied territory of the city of Energodar.
Recall that to investigate the shelling of the power plant, nuclear inspectors will be given broader powers than originally envisaged.
Russian-occupied Energodar, where the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant is located, is now without water and electricity after the shelling.
