British Prime Minister Boris Johnson today, August 24, arrived in Ukraine on a new visit.
The politician announced this on his Twitter page.
What is happening in Ukraine matters to all of us. That’s why I’m in Kyiv today. Therefore, the UK will continue to support our Ukrainian friends. I believe that Ukraine can and will win this war,” the British Prime Minister said.
In Kyiv, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky awarded Johnson the Ukrainian Order of Freedom, the Ukrinform agency reports.
Today, on our Independence Day, which we celebrate, I have the honor to present the Order of Freedom to Boris on behalf of all Ukrainians. This award fully reflects everything that Boris has done, is doing for our country and all of Europe,” Zelensky said, presenting the order to Johnson.
Johnson and Zelensky also solemnly canceled a new postage stamp “Free, Indestructible, Invincible”, dedicated to Independence Day.
Johnson’s visit to Ukraine was the third of a full-scale Russian invasion and the fourth this year. In July, British media reported that Johnson was planning a farewell visit to Ukraine as he steps down as prime minister in the fall.
