Prosecutors of the Cherkasy Regional Prosecutor’s Office filed an indictment against a local resident for high treason. It was reported by the Office of the Attorney General.
The investigation established that the man provided the FSB of the Russian Federation with the coordinates of military facilities, law enforcement areas and state bodies, and critical infrastructure facilities. For the fulfillment of the tasks of the enemy’s intelligence service, the informant was promised a monetary reward. In addition, he asked FSB representatives for pistols with silencers and sights, explosive devices and ammunition to prepare to support the invaders.
In June 2022, law enforcement officers detained a man while collecting information about the location of a military unit. He is currently in custody.
The pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings was conducted by employees of the SBU Department in the Cherkasy region. The accused faces life imprisonment.
Earlier, the Security Service of Ukraine prevented provocations by the FSB using relatives of the Ukrainian military on the eve of Ukraine’s Independence Day.
