Ukraine will return Crimea without consultation with other world states, as it is Ukrainian territory, the president said.
Ukraine will decide how to return Crimea, which has been occupied by Russia since 2014. This was announced by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at a press conference following the summit of the Crimean Platform.
“We will return Crimea, because it is our territory, in any way we decide, without consultation with other states of the world,” he said.
According to Zelensky, purely diplomatic methods have been exhausted.
“We ended this issue… We showed that we like diplomacy… We tried to do it for three years, but you see what it all led to. There was a full-scale aggression,” Zelensky added.
In addition, Zelensky said that there is no shelling of the civilian population in the territories, including Crimea, from the Ukrainian side, and the military is acting according to their plans.
