Duda said he had never been to Crimea before and asked Zelensky to show him the peninsula after its de-occupation.
Polish President Andrzej Duda has expressed a desire to visit Ukrainian Crimea after its de-occupation. The Polish leader invited Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to show him the peninsula. Duda said this at the second summit of the Crimean Platform in Kyiv.
So, speaking at the opening of the summit, Duda noted that he had never been to Crimea, but he was convinced that he would visit the peninsula.
“Crimea is Ukrainian, I believe, Mr. Vladimir, that you will show me Crimea, I will go there, I will visit this Ukrainian peninsula,” he said, addressing President Zelensky.
The leader of Poland also stressed that his country is a reliable back for Ukraine and a real home for Ukrainian refugees.
“Now we have the invasion of Russia, Poland is your back, your home, these are your brothers. This is a family for all your refugees. We have no disputes, all the presidents of Poland will say same thing. We are my Friend, Volodymyr, dear Ukrainian brothers: Ukraine is not dead yet, Jeszcze Polska nie zginęła (a line from the Polish song “Poland is not dead”, – ed.), Sama -together with the victory,” Duda concluded in his speech.
It was earlier reported that Duda arrived in Kyiv on the morning of Tuesday, August 23, for personal presence at the summit of the Crimean Platform.
