According to Algerian Interior Minister Kamel Beljud, 24 people died due to the fire in the province of El Tarf and two more in Setif.
Before that, the fire department reported 39 fires in 14 provinces in the eastern part of Algeria, known for its dense forests.
Forests are still burning, rescuers are killing them with the help of special aviation units.
Large forest fires were previously reported in Spain and Portugal.
This summer in Europe, 660,000 hectares of forest burned due to abnormal heat, a record figure since 2006.
