The Ukrainian authorities have withdrawn from the agreements reached in the talks in Istanbul, Putin said.
Negotiations to end the war between Russia and Ukraine have stalled, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Tuesday, April 12th.
“Kyiv has moved away from the agreements reached in the talks between the parties in Istanbul and returned to a deadlock,” he said.
Putin added that yesterday he was informed about the alleged new changes in Kyiv’s negotiating positions.
According to the President of the Russian Federation, Belarus is “suitable” for negotiations.
“Taking this opportunity, I would like to express my gratitude to colleagues in Belarus for the efficient organization of several rounds of negotiations on their territory,” he said following talks with the formal leader of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko.
According to him, “it became possible to start a direct conversation on the Ukrainian side mainly thanks to the personal efforts of the President of Belarus.”
“We believe that the Belarusian site is suitable for additional contacts,” Putin added.
