If the message about the use of chemical weapons is confirmed, all possible Western responses are on the table.
The British government could not verify information about Russia’s chemical attack on Mariupol. But, if this is confirmed, all possible variants of the Western response are on the table. This was stated by the Minister of the Armed Forces of Great Britain, James Hippie, report on Tuesday, April 12, Sky News.
“It’s important to recognize that there are all sorts of uses for these weapons, from tear gas, which is a riot control agent, to completely destructive chemical weapon systems,” Hippie said.
At the same time, the minister added that he does not think it is useful to assess the situation vaguely, because there are many nuances to it.
“I also think it’s important to be clear that there are things that are out of bounds and the use of chemical weapons will cause a reaction, and there are options on the table for what the reaction might be,” Hippie said.
What these options are, Hippie did not specify.
Recall, on the eve of the Azov regiment said that Russian troops dropped a poisonous substance of unknown origin from a drone in Mariupol.
At the same time, Azov founder Andrei Biletsky said three fighters were injured in the chemical attack.
Earlier, the “DPR” proposed to use chemical weapons against the Ukrainian military in Azovstal.
