The image of the trident of Izyaslav, the son of the Kyiv prince Vladimir, was discovered by archaeologists during excavations in the Minsk region. A unique artifact is a bottom pot with the personal coat of arms of Prince Izyaslav dated to the end of the 10th – beginning of the 11th century.
There are no analogues, this is the first (!) such find in Belarus!, – wrote the founder of the Old Minsk Museum, archaeologist Gleb Lobadzenko.
The image of the trident of the times of Ukraine-Rus can open a new page in the archaeological research of the neighboring country. In a video commentary, archaeologist Andrey Voitekhovich, Candidate of Historical Sciences, noted that a trident was depicted on the found bottom of the pot – the ancestral sign of Prince Izyaslav (the son of Kyiv Prince Vladimir Svyatoslavich and Rognida).
It should be noted that the museum “Old Minsk” is located in the city of Gorodishche, a few kilometers from the Minsk ring road. Archaeological excavations are regularly carried out there, the surrounding area cannot be called explored.
