A gunman stormed the Capitol fence in Washington

A man drove a car into the Capitol fence, opened fire and killed himself. Investigators are trying to determine his motive.

Near the Capitol in Washington on Sunday, August 14, a man shot himself, it happened after he crashed a car into a fence of the building. This was reported by CNN.

The incident happened after 4 am local time. A man drove his car into a barricade at the corner of East Capitol and Second streets. He then got out of the car that burst into flames from the impact and fired several shots into the air, Capitol police said in a statement.

When the police approached the man, he shot himself.

The man’s name has not been released. It appears he did not intend to attack members of Congress on vacation, police said. Investigators are studying the man’s biography.

It will be remembered that on January 6, 2021, supporters of former White House leader Donald Trump stormed the Congress building in Washington. Five people died as a result of the riots. It was previously reported that more than 300 people had been charged. At the same time, about 500 participants in the attack were arrested.
