Previously, it was not possible to determine the exact location of the Razoni vessel, as it moved with the transponder turned off, the agency said.
Dry cargo ship Razoni, which was the first to pass from the port of Odessa along the grain corridor with a cargo of corn, moored at the port of Tartus in Syria, where the base of the Russian Navy is located. Reuters reported this, citing sources on Tuesday, August 16.
The agency obtained satellite images taken by Planet Labs, confirming the ship’s location. A source in the shipping industry said the Syrian side is currently unloading at least some of the grain on board the Razoni.
At the same time, Reuters said earlier that it was not possible to determine the exact location of the ship then, because it was moving with the transponder turned off.
It will be recalled that on August 7, the cargo ship Razoni was supposed to arrive at the port of Tripoli with more than 26,000 tons of Ukrainian corn. But the buyer of this grain in Lebanon refused to accept the ship’s cargo because of the delay in delivery. As a result, the ship stopped near the coast of southern Turkey.
A week ago it was learned that Razoni was moored in the Turkish port of Mersin. The Ukrainian Ambassador to Turkey, Igor Ostash, claimed that all the problems that arose around the ship and the cargo of grain on board have disappeared.
