The invaders quickly captured Melitopol, Zaporozhye region, because they entered from the side of the occupied Crimea. This was announced on Tuesday, August 16, by the mayor of the city Ivan Fedorov on the air of Radio NV.
At the same time, he emphasized that all the Ukrainian special services that worked in the city are carrying out and fulfilling the order.
“The quick capture of Melitopol took place due to the fact that enemy troops quickly passed and entered from the Crimea. We clearly understand this, and every citizen of our state knows it …”, said Fedorov.
He added that the enemies passed through the Kherson region, and therefore the responsibility lies mainly with the special services that control this region.
“Now, I am not authorized to comment on who, when and how (Melitopol – Ed.), because we live in a time of war, and it can be used against us, our state as a whole. But I am sure that all the points above “and” will be placed,” the head of the city stressed, adding that the relevant law enforcement agencies are doing it.
Recall that in the first days of March, when the invaders appeared in Melitopol, local residents held protest rallies against the Russian troops. It was also reported that residents of occupied Melitopol sang the Ukrainian anthem and lay down under a Russian Federation car.
