The SBU detained a Russian agent who had orchestrated missile strikes on Zaporozhye in exchange for the promise of a “leading position” in the event of the city’s capture. This was reported by the press service of the SBU.
It is reported that the agent reconnoitered the areas of deployment and movement of units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine near the southern front and collected information on the results of enemy shelling on civilians and critical infrastructure in Zaporozhye.
“In case the city is captured, the aggressors promised their supporter one of the top positions in the occupation administration. And the attacker himself planned to join the so-called “killing groups” of the invaders to torture and kill Ukrainian defenders . It was established that the traitor was recruited by a personnel officer of the 5th service FSB for reconnaissance and explosive activity,” the SBU said in a statement.
The invaders used the materials received from the agent to correct fires in Zaporozhye and plan sabotage. The detainee is notified of suspicion of treason and taken into custody.
It will be remembered that on the night of Tuesday, August 16, explosions were heard in Zaporozhye.
