At the military cemetery in Warsaw on Sunday, August 14, Polish President Andrzej Duda paid tribute to the soldiers of the Ukrainian People’s Republic (UNR). It was reported to the office of the head of state.
“President Andrzej Duda paid tribute to the soldiers of the UNR, who in 1920, shoulder to shoulder with the soldiers of the Polish Army, fought against the Bolsheviks,” the message said.
It should be noted that every year on the eve of the Day of the Armed Forces of Poland, which is celebrated on August 15, soldiers who died in battles with the Bolsheviks in 1920 are honored at the Warsaw Polonsky cemetery.
Earlier, the president of Poland, visiting the exhibition “Warsaw-Mariupol – the city of ruins, the city of struggle, the city of hope,” said that the atrocities of the Russians in Mariupol were comparable on the actions of the Nazis in Warsaw during World War II.
