DW: The Amnesty International report on the UAF will be re-examined

Independent experts will review Amnesty International’s controversial report on the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Human rights activists from Amnesty International will contact independent experts to review the process and content of his report, which accused the Ukrainian Armed Forces of “violating the laws of war.” This was reported by Deutsche Welle, citing a statement from the organization itself.

“We want to understand what exactly went wrong and why, to learn lessons and improve our work in the field of human rights,” the organization said.

Also, AI acknowledged that the report was published “without sufficient context.” In this regard, the organization explained what they mean: “It ignored the Russian aggression that violates international law and numerous war crimes committed by the Russian military and documented by Amnesty International.”

It will be recalled that on August 4, the human rights organization Amnesty International published a report in which it accused the Armed Forces of Ukraine of creating bases near schools and hospitals.

Following the public reaction to the released report, Amnesty International apologized but did not retract its findings.
