The Ministry of Infrastructure has been tasked with accelerating the rollout of the “electronic queue” service and creating a network of service zones for trucks and drivers near border checkpoints.
The government plans to speed up the passage of people, vehicles and goods through checkpoints, which will help stimulate business and increase trade. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced this on his Telegram channel following a meeting with the Ministry of Infrastructure team.
He noted that the ministry is committed to accelerating the launch of the “electronic queue” border service and intensifying the creation of a network of modern service zones for trucks and drivers near border checkpoints.
According to him, in the future, such zones must be equipped in accordance with the standards and directives of the European Union throughout the country.
In addition, the Ministry of Infrastructure, together with the State Customs Service, needs to take measures to expand the capacity of the state border, in particular, the purchase of equipment for scanning cars and speeding up customs procedures.
It is also necessary to fix the issue of ongoing border infrastructure development work at the expense of credit and provide funds from partners, particularly Poland.
It was previously reported that one of the border checkpoints with Hungary was temporarily closed. Ukrainians have been warned about the temporary closure of the Luzhanka checkpoint on the border with Hungary.
