The actions of the aggressor country completely fall under the definition of nuclear terrorism, the head of the Ministry of Energy said.
Russian occupiers violated all international conventions during the occupation of Zaporozhye NPP. Ukraine needs maximum international support to force the aggressor to leave the territory of the station. Energy Minister German Galushchenko said this on the air of the telethon, according to the website of the Ministry of Energy on Thursday, August 11.

He noted that Ukraine already has the support of the European Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson and the foreign ministers of the G7 countries.
According to Galushchenko, during the occupation of ZNPP, Russia violated all international conventions and resolutions on observing the fundamentals of nuclear safety at nuclear facilities, and its actions completely fall under of the definition of nuclear terrorism. In particular, we are talking about the shelling of the Russian military in the territory of the station, which creates unprecedented risks for the nuclear security of Ukraine and neighboring countries.
The Minister recalled that any armed attack and threat to nuclear facilities intended for peaceful purposes is defined as a violation of the principles of the UN Charter, international law and the IAEA Charter. In addition, the IAEA resolutions specify that an armed attack or the threat of an armed attack on a nuclear facility operating or under construction creates a situation in which the UN Security Council must immediately act in accordance with the provisions of the UN Charter.
Galushchenko believes that in order to assess the situation at ZNPP, in particular, from the point of view of nuclear safety and the safety of handling nuclear materials, a joint mission of the UN and IAEA should be sent to the station.
Remember that Russian invaders regularly take ZNPP. Today, 10 “arrivals” have been recorded at the station.
And last week, the commander of the Russian garrison at the ZNPP announced that it was mined and ready to detonate it.
