The invaders could not provide the population of the city with drinking water, as well as establish electricity and gas supply.
The work authorities will not be able to fix the heating season in Mariupol this year. This was announced at a briefing on August 11 by city mayor Vadim Boychenko.
“There is no warming season this year, that is, it will be very cold. People understand it. And therefore we see an increase in the number of people leaving for our state,” he said.
The mayor of Mariupol also emphasized that the occupiers will not be given drinking water.
“There is not and will not be (during the occupation – ed.) high-quality drinking water. Where did Mariupol get water before the war? The source of the city’s water supply is the Seversky Donets. They (the conquerors Russian – ed. .) destroyed this network, and it is impossible to restore it. It will require billions of hryvnias and a regime of silence, but nothing. Where they are trying to get water now is the reserve storage of Stary Krym: there low-quality, technical water and its quantity, unfortunately, is only for nine months,” said Boychenko.
In addition, at the moment, the city’s drainage system is not working. According to the mayor, it will take one and a half to two years before it can be restored.
“They (the occupiers – ed.) are trying to provide electricity to the city, but they have no idea: instead of 220 W they provide 380 W, so they burn the apartments and the property that survived … Added to this is a non-working gas supply system,” he added.
It was previously reported that in Russian-occupied Mariupol, the death rate had increased fivefold.
