The United States of America, together with its allies, will continue to provide military assistance to Ukraine. This was stated by US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin during a visit to Latvia, writes on August 10, the influential edition of Bloomberg.
According to Austin, military assistance will be provided “as much as needed.”
We are committed to helping Ukraine and providing it with equipment to defend their sovereign territory,” the US Secretary of Defense emphasized at a meeting in Riga with Latvian Defense Minister Artis Pabriks.
Austin believes that despite significant losses, Russia has sent a “significant amount” of its best military equipment to invade Ukraine and still has air and sea capabilities. The head of the US defense department confirmed Washington’s promise of military support for Kyiv in the fight against Russia.
The US commander also reiterated NATO’s commitment to maintain a “permanent rotating” presence in the Baltic region to protect the alliance’s eastern flank.
Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, amid an explosion at an airbase in Crimea, promised to “fire” the temporarily occupied peninsula. In addition, the publication indicates that the explosion in the Crimea has put at stake the prestige of Russia’s war criminal Putin.
