Taiwan’s army conducts artillery training

Today’s troop training lasted less than an hour and included artillery and rocket fire.

Taiwan’s army held artillery drills today, August 9, in preparation for defending the island from a possible Chinese attack. This was reported by MSN.

Lu Woei Zhe, spokesman for Taiwan’s 8th Army Corps, said today’s troop training lasted less than an hour and included artillery and rocket firing.

The antiamphibious exercises included the deployment of hundreds of military personnel and about 40 howitzer crews, fired from hidden positions along the coast.

Taiwan’s military announced the resumption of exercises on Thursday, August 11.

It can be recalled that US President Joseph Biden believes that the military exercises of the Chinese army on the coast of Taiwan will not cause further military escalation in the region.

Note that Beijing continues to put pressure on Taiwan after the visit of US House of Representatives speaker Nancy Pelosi. China’s military on August 8 announced new exercises near Taiwan.

The previous day, August 7, the PLA said it conducted exercises around Taiwan focused on testing long-range ground and air strike capabilities.
