Russia is looking for forces for an offensive in Donbass – General Staff

In the Russian Federation, steps are being taken to regroup, build the command and control system and provide logistical support for the troops.

Russia is trying to prepare for an offensive operation in eastern Ukraine, according to a summary of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to Ukrainian defenders, the Russian Federation continues to consolidate, build command and control systems and provide logistical support for troops. The occupiers moved battalion tactical groups from the Eastern and Central military districts to the Ukrainian borders in the Belgorod, Voronezh and Kursk regions.

It is not excluded that the enemy will develop efforts in the direction of Slavyansk, part of the forces – in Barvinkovo. The battle for the city of Kharkov is likely to intensify.

The enemy had some problems with the material and technical support of grouping forces in the Western Military District. This is the lack of spare parts, certain types of artillery ammunition, as well as the imperfection of the system for storing and providing material and technical means.

In the direction of Donetsk and Tavria, the enemy focused its main efforts on controlling the communities of Popasna, Rubizhnoye, Nizhnee and Novobakhmutovka. The occupiers did not neglect their attempts to take the city of Mariupol under full control.

To recoup the losses of the armed forces of the Russian Federation, additional weapons and military equipment were transferred to the territory from the Southern Military District.

The enemy is expected to try to bypass the defenses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine using the existing composition of troops and advance in the areas of the communities of Severodonetsk, Popasna, Avdeevka and Kurakhovo.

At the same time, there was no significant change in the position and activity of enemy troops in the direction of Volyn, Polessky and Seversk.
