The prisoner from Azovstal died in the pre-trial detention center “DPR” – media

Kremlin publications say that the cause of death of the deceased fighter was allegedly complications that arose due to “drug use”.

A member of the Ukrainian paramilitary group Bears, who was taken to Azovstal, died in the pre-trial detention center of the DPR. This was reported by the Russian propaganda news agency TASS on Tuesday, August 9, citing its sources.

The report says that the man died allegedly from the drugs he used before he was imprisoned. The media claims that these are drugs that “caused complications of chronic diseases.”

The source added that against the deceased “the criminal prosecution will be terminated on non-rehabilitating grounds, even if he is charged in the investigation.”

He also added that “if necessary, the main testimony of the deceased will be considered and taken into account to qualify the actions” of other members of the Bears group.

Note that the so-called “DPR court” has already conducted one of the “trial” stages. “DPR” militants plan to announce the verdict. The prisoners wanted to be sentenced to death.

Bears are one of the divisions of Azov. In mid-June, several Medvedi fighters appeared on a Russian TV channel where propagandists called them “neo-Nazis.” Relatives of the military noted that while watching the video, they noticed traces of torture during the captivity of the defenders of Mariupol.

It will be recalled that on August 2, the Supreme Court of Russia recognized the Azov Regiment as a “terrorist organization.” With its decision, the Russian side may slow down the entire exchange process.

For participation in Azov, the Russians provided criminal liability: the organizers could face punishment up to life imprisonment, and ordinary participants – up to 20 years, and the property of the organization or branch it is subject to confiscation.

Remember, the Azov regiment in response called on the United States and other countries to recognize the current Russia as a terrorist state.
