The escalation of violence between Israel and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (YIP) in Gaza continues unabated, with multiple shootings this Saturday that raised the Palestinian death toll to 11 and pushed tensions into a second day.
The Gaza Health Ministry announced today the death of a Palestinian this Saturday in the city of Khan Younis. In addition to the 11 dead, about 90 were wounded, the vast majority in the Strip.
According to the army IsraelThe YIP has fired more than 160 rockets since the current outbreak of violence, mostly targeting towns near the enclave. The vast majority of these shells were intercepted by air defense systems, the rest fell in deserted areas.

The alarm continued to sound this Saturday morning in the settlements adjacent to The loop.
Armed YIP targets
At the same time, the Air Force Israel continued to target Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PJI) installations in the Gaza Strip, using both drones and warplanes, and targeted sites believed to be used for weapons production and for the production and launch of missiles.
Among the dead reported so far are at least four YIP members, including a second member of the group, and a five-year-old girl. The Palestinian Ministry of Health has so far counted about 80 injured, while emergency services in Israel reported that at least eight people were hospitalized due to injuries sustained while running to bomb shelters.

In addition, a joint operation of the Army was carried out at night IsraelThe Border Police and the Internal Intelligence Service stopped capturing 20 people in the occupied West Bank, 19 of whom belong to the Islamic Jihad.
Local Israeli media reported today that the army is ready for a wide-ranging operation that could last a week, and cite military sources as confirming that there are no ongoing talks to end the violence.
The current upsurge in tension began this Friday with a powerful Israeli “preemptive” offensive against YIP targets in The loop in the face of what the military called the “imminent threat” of the group’s attack in retaliation for Monday’s arrest of one of its leaders during a raid in the West Bank.
