Emirates company decided to resume flights from its capital to Russia in October this year.
UAE airline Wizz Air Abu Dhabi resumes flights between Abu Dhabi and Moscow from October. This was announced by the director of Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, Michael Berluis, in a commentary to the ZAWYA business publication.
According to him, daily flights will be launched from October 3 this year.
It should be noted that other Emirati carriers, in particular Emirates, continue to operate flights to the Russian Federation after the invasion of Ukraine.
Wizz Air Abu Dhabi is a low-cost airline based at Abu Dhabi International Airport (UAE)
The airline is a joint venture with state-owned ADQ (formerly Abu Dhabi Developmental Holding Company, ADDH), which owns 51%, while Hungarian low-cost carrier Wizz Air Holdings owns the rest 49%
Wizz Air Abu Dhabi operates a network of 34 destinations within a five-hour flight radius from Abu Dhabi.
It will be recalled that on February 26, the EU decided to completely ban the supply and leasing of aircraft, helicopters and other aircraft to Russia, as well as their insurance and maintenance.
On April 11, the European Commission blacklisted 21 Russian airlines, the largest of which are Aeroflot, Russia, Pobeda, UTair, S7.
In response, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law allowing Russian airlines not to return aircraft leased from foreign companies.
