Ukraine offers to visit the nuclear power plant taken by the invaders to UN representatives as peacekeepers. IAEA specialists may join them.
A visit to the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant occupied by Russian troops by IAEA representatives is currently impossible. Energoatom President Petr Kotin announced this during the telethon air on Monday, August 8.

He rejected the information that Ukraine is against the arrival of the IAEA mission to the ZNPP.
“From the very beginning, we are in favor of such a mission being present on the station, but we are not talking about the IAEA, but about the official UN mission. There may be experts from the IAEA there,” Kotin specified.
According to him, it is necessary to transfer control over the territory of the nuclear power plant to these observers, the so-called peacekeepers.
“We cannot accept the representatives of the IAEA mission, because we cannot fulfill the conditions for their safety. It is dangerous, and we cannot be responsible for it,” said the head of Energoatom.
It will be recalled that on August 6, Russian aggressors fired twice at the ZNPP. The power unit No. 4 were killed at the station. Energoatom reported that the nitrogen-oxygen station and the combined auxiliary building were damaged as a result of the shelling.
The commander of the Russian garrison at the Zaporizhzhya NPP announced that it was mined and ready to detonate it.
