President of the United States Joe Bidenemerged from his second COVID-19 lockdown this Sunday after testing negative on a new test this morning, his official physician, Kevin O’Connor, said in a letter sent by the White House.

Joe Biden already tested negative yesterday, but it has been decided to keep the president in isolation until he passes a second test, as a precaution.

This morning the Democrat left Washington for the first time in over two weeks. He was airlifted to Delaware, where he often spends summer weekends.

Biden’s future actions

As he left the White House, the President referred to the Democrats’ ambitious climate and fiscal bill, the Inflation Reduction Act, which is currently under consideration in the Senate, where it is undergoing a marathon session of debate and amendment that has already exceeded 13 hours.

“I think it will be approved,” the US President said on the way to the helicopter.

Tomorrow, Biden is due to travel with the first lady to Kentucky, where dozens of people have died in recent floods, to lead rescue efforts and support affected families.

It is worth noting that the head of state of the United States has tested positive for COVID-19 since last Saturday, July 30, when a “rebound” case was reported, likely caused by the oral antiretroviral drug Paxlovid, which he took for five days to cure. symptoms of his previous infection forced him to cancel his busy schedule and continue working at the White House in isolation. tension with China

The United States considers “irresponsible” China’s decision to suspend dialogue with Washington on climate change, as “it punishes the whole world,” a White House spokesman said.

“They think they are punishing us by shutting down this channel” of communication, but “they are actually punishing the whole world because the climate crisis knows no geographic limits or borders,” said National Security Council spokesman John Kirby.

He also assured that the United States will continue to maintain “high-level” military contacts with China, despite the fact that Beijing has suspended a number of cooperation agreements, in particular in this area.
