Air defense successfully eliminates most of the missiles that Russia fires at peaceful cities. The Air Force of Ukraine spoke about several types of missiles, which are very difficult to shoot down.
During a briefing on August 5, the representative of the Ukrainian Air Force, Yuriy Ignat, said that Soviet-style Kh-22 and Kh-31 missiles, as well as Onyx and Iskander, are dangerous.
These missiles are extremely fast, not all missiles can shoot down our air defenses with the existing means that we have in service,” the Air Force speaker said.
Ignat noted that Russia also produces a large number of Kh-101 and Kalibr cruise missiles in Ukraine.
On August 2, seven out of eight enemy missiles were shot down by air defenses. Six missiles were eliminated by anti-aircraft missile troops, one was shot down by a fighter. In the Lviv region, a hit was recorded in an anti-aircraft missile system.
Let’s remind, on July 31 Russian occupiers delivered a massive missile attack on Nikolaev. 12 missiles were fired at the city, two more were shot down by air defense systems. There were 12 rockets in the morning. It is preliminary known that the Russians fired at the regional center from S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems. Private facilities and educational institutions were damaged.
