North Korea says all patients with fever have recovered from the COVID-19 outbreak, the Air Force reported, citing DPRK media.
According to North Korean media, the virus has been defeated in the country.
“All patients who were previously infected have recovered,” the Korean Central News Agency said.
The country’s authorities said that the anti-epidemic situation in the DPRK has entered a certain stage of stability.
“The DPRK will redouble efforts to maintain perfection in the implementation of national anti-epidemic policies and measures, and will comprehensively work to further tighten the anti-epidemic system,” the authorities said.
It was noted that such work would include increased surveillance of new strains of COVID-19 and measures to quickly mobilize medical workers in the event of a crisis.
An outbreak of “fever” began in North Korea in May. State media reported that approximately 4.77 million citizens suffered from the disease. 74 people have died from COVID-19 since the end of April.
