Putin is assured that they have agreed with Turkey to pay for gas in rubles
On Friday, Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Sochi, Russia.
The negotiations went on for more than four hours. As a result, the Russian side stated that agreements had been reached on Turkey’s payment for Russian gas in rubles.
In addition, the joint statement of the presidents of Russia and Turkey emphasizes the need for the full implementation of the Istanbul “grain agreement”, namely, the unhindered export of Russian fertilizers and grain.
Recall that on July 22 in Istanbul, Ukraine, Turkey and the UN signed an agreement on the unblocking of ports and the export of Ukrainian grain. A mirror agreement with Turkey and the UN was also signed by Russia.
The presidents of both countries reaffirmed their commitment to the political unity and territorial integrity of Syria and their determination to act in close coordination to combat terrorist organizations, the parties said in a joint statement.
In addition, Erdogan and the ways stated the need for the full implementation of the Istanbul “grain agreement”, including the unhindered export of Russian grain and fertilizers.
Rakurs reported that Russia turned to Turkey for help in circumventing the sanctions that were imposed against it because of the war in Ukraine. The American newspaper The Washington Post writes about this, citing information from Ukrainian intelligence.
The Russian proposal indicates that Russia hopes that Turkey will agree to proposals that will help it avoid sanctions restrictions in the banking, energy and industrial sectors.
