General Dmitry Marchenko, who commanded the defense of Mykolaiv at the beginning of Russia’s war against Ukraine, believes that the hot phase of a full-scale war will end before the end of the year.
Neither the Russians nor we will pull. The hottest phase will end before the end of the year, definitely,” Marchenko said in an interview with Taras Berezovets.
General Marchenko does not expect anything new from the Russians in the coming months, who again want to attack Nikolaev according to the same plan as in February-March.
I want to reassure everyone, there is no need to be afraid of them, they are more afraid than us, they are also afraid, we must resist. We will beat them and drive them out, this is our land, we are not afraid of anyone and we will not let anyone in here,” the general said.
Marchenko urged the infidels to surrender “if they want to live.”
The general said that the possible liberation of the Kherson region before the onset of cold weather depends primarily on the weapons that partners promised Ukraine.
When we know how many weapons they will give us, then we can make some forecasts on this score, while it is difficult. We will fight in any case, with or without Western weapons, if necessary, we will beat the Russians with pitchforks,” Marchenko said.
Earlier, he told Marchenko that the Armed Forces of Ukraine would beat the Russians from both sides during the liberation of Kherson and advocated the destruction of the Crimean bridge, which the invaders use to bring equipment to Ukraine. He is convinced that the liberation of Crimea is inevitable.
At the end of July, Marchenko returned to serve in Nikolaev.
