One of the pilgrims said that, despite the widespread war in Ukraine, he dreamed of arriving here on Rosh Hashanah.
About half a thousand Hasidim arrived in Uman, to celebrate the Jewish New Year of Rosh Hashanah in September. The mayor of Uman, Irina Pletneva, spoke about it, writes Suspіlne.
Hasidim pray at the grave of their mentor Rabbi Nachman and walk through the pilgrimage quarter.
As one of the pilgrims said, he dreamed of coming here for Rosh Hashanah, despite the widespread war in Ukraine.
“I arrived a week ago and I’m here on Rosh Hashan. I came to pray and will do it every day. The war is very bad. And we will ask for peace,” he said.
It was previously reported that the Israeli Foreign Ministry is asking its citizens not to go to Ukraine for Rosh Hashanah due to war-related risks.
