The Ministry of Social Policy is studying the issue of the applicability of equal payments to those who left and those who stayed.
In Ukraine, they are considering the possibility of introducing the same social benefits to citizens who remain in the country and to those who have gone abroad. The Minister of Social Policy Oksana Zholnovich spoke about this in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine, published on Thursday, August 4.
“In fact, this requires legislative changes, because we do not have such a procedure as temporary movement abroad. On the other hand, it is a sensitive issue, because we must look at what the state to which to move gives him a person, ” – he said.
Zholnovich said that the ministry, together with the Office of the Council of Europe in Ukraine, has already audited all the support and benefits given to Ukrainians abroad.
“We will study these numbers and the next step is to contact those countries to synchronize our payments. This is a long process. And simply saying that we do not pay anything else, we can we put our people in a very difficult position “said the minister.
He confirmed that the Ministry of Social Policy will work to resolve the issue of double payment.
“It is possible to combine these benefits or, if the payment is significant enough to the host country, think about whether it is worth paying for insignificant help from Ukraine. I can’t say that we have ready solutions to this Because, perhaps, it is better to find this money so as not to create a negative,” said Zholnovich.
He added that it is very important to show people that Ukraine has not abandoned them.
Earlier, the Office of the President said that the introduction of basic income in Ukraine is possible only with the financial assistance of international partners, as such an initiative costs $2 billion per month.
