Detained in July, the former head of the SBU in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Oleg Kulinich, hid information about the attack by the Russians.
Detained on suspicion of high treason, the former head of the SBU department in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea (stationed in Kherson) on the eve of the Russian invasion at about 1.00 on February 24, received information about plans for an attack from Crimea.
The Kherson edition “MOST” writes about this with reference to the ruling of the court.
In the future, Kulinich was supposed to send the prepared encrypted message to the central apparatus for decision-making, but did not.
Thus, he deprived the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations of the opportunity to take appropriate response measures to counter armed aggression in a timely manner, which also became the basis for the occupation of a significant part of the territory.
After the Russian invasion, Kulinich tried to escape to the Crimea, but was detained. The court sent the former head of the SBU to the Autonomous Republic of Crimea under arrest until September 13, 2022.
Recall that on the evening of July 17, President Volodymyr Zelensky removed Irina Venediktova and head of the Security Service of Ukraine Ivan Bakanov from their duties as Prosecutor General. In his evening address, he explained that he did this because of the “array of crimes” committed by employees of the Office of the Prosecutor General and the SBU.
This poses very serious questions to the leaders of these structures,” Zelensky said.
Bankova initiated internal investigations in the SBU and the prosecutor’s office. Subsequently, an acting head of the special services was appointed to the SBU, and Venediktova was sent as an ambassador to Switzerland – the relevant documents were agreed upon by Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba.
