Retro travel posters, a decoration trend that makes us see all the colors

They have left the walls of agencies and stations, stepped off trains and boats to climb into our interiors. Yesterday’s travel posters have become updated posters riding the neo-retro wave. Biarritz, La Camargue or Les Alpes hang in front of our sofas, offering a window into other places and a nod to the holidays. For ten years, graphic designers and illustrators have been rewriting the imaginative memories inspired by travel advertising media from the 1920s to the 1970s. Some even cooperate with tourist offices. So Mr. Zee (alias Richard Zelenkiewicz), who has influenced more than one with his subtle medieval features; her “Yes, I’m Cannes” poster, below a pencil drawing of a swimsuit, removable on her ear, is posted in the front. A yacht is a classic.

New “dream shops” have sprung up, including Sergeant Paper in Paris and Stick No Bills in Mallorca, which over the years have resembled a travel agency…
